For Bermuda and Zoysia Lawns

Our approach in creating a beautiful Bermuda or Zoysia, warm season lawn, will ensure:

  • Customized treatment tailored specifically for your lawn and turfgrass type with higher quality products,
  • A more environmentally friendly approach to lawn care with fewer scheduled applications using slow release fertilizers,
  • A conscious effort to minimize overall pesticide use, while maintaining the quality you expect.

Ensuring that you have a healthy lawn is our top priority. A trained member of our team will conduct periodic site inspections to ensure that we are meeting our high quality standards with your lawn’s performance. Our team will apply nutrients or weed control treatments on an as-needed basis, in addition to your regularly scheduled applications throughout the year.

This customized method differentiates Handy Andy Outdoors from the current one-size-fits-all approach of many of our competitors by focusing on results and environmental impact instead of the number of billable applications.

Our Warm Season Turfgrass Service Schedule

January – The technician will scout and treat lawn areas for Winter grassy and broadleaf weeds.

February – Apply slow-release granular fertilizer with pre-emergent coating that will continually feed your turfgrass throughout the growing season, as well as control numerous annual grasses and broadleaf weeds late into the Summer months. This will start the green up process and help strengthen your root systems while reducing the amount of nitrates and pesticides used by traditional lawn companies. The technician will perform a thorough inspection of your lawn to advise on any concerns that need to be addressed.

March-August – During this time, the technician will evaluate the lawn and target the specific requirements. Your turfgrass may need more post-emergent to control weeds and/or organic fertilizers for a greener color. Aeration of Bermuda and Zoysia lawns needs to be conducted during this time as well to improve root growth, loosen compacted soil, and provide adequate water runoff. This allows fertilizer, air and water to reach the root zone of your lawn.

September – Liquid pre- and post-emergents are applied to control Fall and Winter annual weeds and grasses. Fall and Spring turfgrass fungus issues need to be addressed at this time. The technician will perform a thorough inspection of your lawn to advise on any concerns.

October – A lime application is applied to balance the PH levels in the soil. The technician will scout the lawn and any noticeable grassy and broadleaf weeds will be treated at this time.

November/December – Potash is applied to winterize the turfgrass, both fortifying the root system and increasing its cold tolerance. The technician will scout the lawn and any noticeable grassy and broadleaf weeds will be treated at this time.
